TRAVEL DOCUMENT

I. FOR VIETNAMESE CITIZENS

1. Domestic Flights (The departure and the destination within the territory of Vietnam)

Vietnamese nationality should prepare one of the documents to take the flight.
  • Identity card
  • Citizenship card
  • Passport
  • Driver's license
  • Children: need to go with adults and need to produce the Birth certificates (notarized copies)

2. International Flights (At least the departure or the destination outside of territory of Vietnam)

International flights require all passengers to have a valid passport. (Children without a personal passport thus the full name, date of birth and photo of the child are recorded and affixed to the passport of the child’s Legal Representative, including: father, mother, foster parent or guardian.)
In addition, when passengers enter Vietnam or the countries of the world must have Vietnam visa or that country’s own visa (Except in some cases, that country is listed on exempted visa under the diplomatic cooperation agreement between the two countries Vietnam and that country)


Some note:


- For children over the age of 14 but without Identity Card or Passport, when making domestic flights, is required to supply a certificate of identity certification issued by the commune police office of the place of permanent residence. (or download here)
- Pregnant women who are over 27 weeks of age need to carry a medical certificate to fitness for fly to issued by a hospital or her treating doctor.
- All the above documents must be valid, do not erase, do not torn, …
- Vietnam Airlines has the right to refuse to supply services and does not have to refund any costs if the passenger violates one of the following conditions:
- Do not provide enough personal identification following regulations.
- Passengers on the NO FLY LIST.
- Passengers whose luggage belongs blacklist circulated.

II. FOR FOREIGNER

1. Domestic Flights (The departure and the destination within the territory of Vietnam)

  • Passport Validity.
  • Vietnam Visa is still valid until the date of departure. (You can know more information about Vietnam Visa in here).

2. International Flights (At least the departure or the destination outside of territory of Vietnam)

a. International Flights to Vietnam: Passengers need to prepare the following documents:
  • Passport have valid for no less than 06 months upon arrival.
  • Visa approval letter which was issued by Vietnam Immigration Department (Exception, passenger belongs the Visa Exemptions List).
b. International Flights from Vietnam:
  • Passport Validity
  • Vietnam Visa is still valid until the date of departure.
  • A visa or a visa approval letter of the country where the visitor will enter.
Some Notes:
  • To facilitate for the international visitors to entry Vietnam traveling or working, ... The Government of Vietnam approved international visitors to obtain Vietnam visa in two ways:
+ Get Vietnam Visa at the Embassy of Vietnam in your country before making a flight to Vietnam.
+ Get Vietnam Visa right at the Vietnam international airports: NoiBai airport – Hanoi city, Da Nang airport - Da Nang City, Cam Ranh airport - Nha Trang city, Tan Son Nhat airport - Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Children without a personal passport thus the full name, date of birth and photo of the child are recorded and affixed to the passport of the child’s Legal Representative, including: father, mother, foster parent or guardian.
  • In case of losing of passport, there must be a document from the diplomatic or consular office certifying the identity of the loss of passport of the passenger, stuck with the photo, the back seal. This letter is valid for 30 days from the date of certification.
